Zoe-perry
Perry is daughter to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. However, her parents did not allow her to play until she reached the age of adulthood due to the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry was shy in high-school and did not act. She started acting at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer from Boston University. Perry began her career as an actress in New York after graduation, performing in minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry move back to California and find work as a theater actress. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. Her father was also in the production. Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. In 2017, she played an appearance on The ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. Also, she was cast on her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The character was assigned to her by way of audition regardless of the fact that she has a family tie to the character.
